AUCKLAND (July 22, 2021) — Harken is pleased to announce its appointment of Grant Pellew to Managing Director of its New Zealand operation. Pellew adds this responsibility to his current role as Managing Director of Harken Australia. He has been a part of the Harken team for 11 years, 7 in his current role.
Grant takes over leadership of Harken New Zealand from Robbie Young who is leaving to pursue the next chapter of his life story. If you know Robbie, you know the decision was all his.“Robbie and the Harken NZ team did incredible, transformative things for our company during their watch,” said Peter Harken, Chairman. “We salute Robbie as he and Maria move to the South Island and enter their next phase. We know we’ll hear from them often and look forward to bunking with them the next time we visit.”
In addition to distributing Harken products throughout the country, Harken New Zealand owns and operates Fosters Chandlery, which has been in the business of selling marine equipment to the boating industry for 114 years. The combined organization opened a brand-new headquarters (488 m² overall) with a 200 m² retail store and distribution center in the Westhaven neighborhood of Auckland in the summer of 2021.
